How to manage user access to OKR for Jira app?

You can prevent some users from seeing the OKRs by blocking their access to the app. To do so, go to Jira settings and click on Global permissions

On the right side you’ll see a list of Jira permissions. Find a permission called View and modify OKRs.

All user groups are there by default, but you can remove a user group to prevent its members from having the access to your company’s OKRs by simply deleting the group from the list on the right.

Administration of the app

Admin permissions, along with the other roles, can be configured inside the application. However, there is a way to have a super-admin role, non-dependent on the in-app setup. That’s a way to solve any permission issues within the app, or any other challenges.

Inside Jira global permissions, apart from the View and modify OKRs, you’re also able to find “Administer data of OKRs for Jira” permission.

Users and groups assigned to this permission will always be able to:

  • access the app

  • create & manage any data in the app (OKRs, Teams, Labels, Periods, etc.)

  • access & manage all of the settings

  • set up permissions and OKR restrictions

Users and groups assigned to this permission will not be able to:

  • see and edit OKRs that are restricted to a group of users that doesn’t include them

  • No labels
