OKR type is another attribute that you can assign to your objectives. It differentiates the OKRs' reach and focus between the company OKRs, team OKRs and personal OKRs.

You can also add your own OKR types if your company is working i.e. with department-level OKRs or squad-level OKRs.

How to choose an OKR type in OKR for Jira

  1. While adding Objective
While adding a new objective, in the second part of the form, click on the “OKR type” dropdown. You will see the default options and the ones added by anyone on the instance there.

Choose a type. Then fill in any missing fields and click on “Create objective” button. The type you’ve chosen will be also visible on the side panel with all detailed information on the “Created OKRs” page

  2. On an objective’s detail page

Go to any objective’s detail page. In the info section, you will see an OKR type field.

If it’s empty, you can choose a type by clicking on the “Set type…” area and picking one of the options in the dropdown. You can change the option set anytime.
